The school
Created in 2016, the surf school was born from Manu Portet's desire to share his passion for surfing and offer quality teaching: a limited number of students per course, a safe environment, plenty of advice adapted to each person's level and maximum time in the water.
Expérience Surf School enjoys an ideal seafront location on the Pavillon Royal beach in Bidart, between Biarritz and Saint-Jean-de-Luz.
The surf school offers courses or training programs according to your wishes, in a unique setting between cliffs and ocean, for a total change of scenery.
Our school also offers a rental service for surfboards, bodyboards and wetsuits.
We welcome you every day from June to September in our surf school on the beach of the Royal Pavilion in Bidart, and outside of the season by appointment.

Manu Portet

A former member of the French team, Manu Portet is one of the figures of European surfing.
A child of the Basque Country, it was in Bidart, at the age of 6, that he discovered his love for surfing. Sponsored for more than 15 years, Manu will travel around the world to the most beautiful surf spots in order to satisfy his various sponsors and live off his passion.
Former professional surfer, coach of elite surfers and instructor for 20 years, Manu has built up a solid experience. He will be happy to welcome you to his school in Bidart, in order to help you progress in the best conditions.

Originally from Brittany, Mathias grew up in contact with the ocean and surfing, with a competitive background that allowed him to develop solid technical mastery and a real commitment to his practice.
At 25, he now uses this experience to teach, accompanying beginner and experienced surfers with a pedagogical, safe and progression-oriented approach.

The spot
The Royal Pavillon beach in Bidart
Bordering Biarritz, the Pavillon Royal is a fine sand beach lined with cliffs, one of the wildest on the Basque coast. Accessible on foot, it is one of the least frequented surf spots, where it is common to be able to surf in complete peace. More than a kilometer long, the beach offers different peaks and types of waves that will satisfy both beginners and more experienced surfers.
